ASUS MARS 760 4GB Video Card

For testing power consumption, we took our test system and plugged it into a Kill-A-Watt power meter. For idle numbers, we allowed the system to idle on the desktop for 15 minutes and took the reading. For load numbers we ran three games at 1920×1080 and averaged the peak results seen on the power meter.

Power Consumption Results: The entire platform with the ASUS MARS 760 installed was consuming 117 Watts at idle and hit a maximum of 550 Watts when gaming. These are numbers top our chart, but it is also the only dual-GPU on it. Being roughly 90 Watts higher than the AMD Radeon R9 290X video card and ~75 Watts higher than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti might make some wonder what solution is right for them. The AMD Radeon R9 290X and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780Ti use less power and have a lower cost associated with them. The ASUS MARS 760 performance was often pretty close to those two cards as well, so be sure you are okay with the power draw for this solution.
