AMD Catalyst Omega Driver Downloaded 2 Million Times
AMD just sent over word that the AMD Catalyst Driver that was released last week has already been downloaded over two million times. The AMD Catalyst Omega Driver (14.12) brings new features like Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) to render a game at a higher resolution than your monitor supports and then downsample it for your display and FreeSync that matches the framerate of your game on the GPU to that of the display you are using. AMD didn’t forget about high-end gaming enthusiasts and rolled out frame pacing enhancements for multi-GPU setups. AMD didn’t stop there though and rolled out a ton of video processing enhancements like AMD Fluid Motion Video, Contour Removal, FullHD to UltraHD video and more. AMD Catalyst Omega drivers even support Dell 5K displays! You can read more about the features here and see the frame pacing improvements here on our Radeon R9 290 Crossfire setup. You can download the AMD Catalyst Omega Driver here if you’d like to try it out for yourself!
I just wanted to reach out and thank you for taking the time to review the Catalyst Omega driver and press deck. We appreciate you sharing your insights and your positive feedback, the driver has reached 2 million downloads to date!
