Pantech Element 4G LTE Testing

This review wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t try out the 4G LTE wireless speeds on the AT&T network as that is the highlight of this 4G LTE powered tablet!

At our office we get 4G LTE service with three to four bars on the signal strength. We downloaded the Speedtest.net App to check how our upload and download speeds were on the Pantech Element.

SpeedTest App Results

When we fired up and ran the app we found that with the auto-selected server we were getting roughly 4 Mb/s down and 1 MB/s up. These were not the greatest 4G LTE speeds and we have seen far greater with the Verizon 4G LTE network when we have tested tablets on it.

After we changed servers to Chicago, IL we found that we were getting 5 Mb/s down and 1 MB/s up!

We then tried the Independence, MO server and saw download speeds of 6 MB/s and upload speeds of less than 1 MB/s!

AT&T 4G LTE Data plans for Tablets:

  • $35 monthly access for 3GB monthly allowance
  • $50 monthly access for 5GB monthly allowance

When you buy a Pantech Element from AT&T you have a choice between the 3GB for $35 or 5GB for $50 data plans. If you go over your allowed bandwidth usage you are charged $10 for every 1GB of data that you use over your plan allotment.
