Pantech Element Camera Testing

Tablets usually don’t have good cameras on them, but we like to try them out as everyone snaps pictures with smartphones and tablets since they are always on them. The Pantech Element has a 5-megapixel camera facing out the back with a flash and while it is nothing to write home about, it does get the job done. It takes large 2560 x 1920 images, but we found that even in good lighting they tend to be soft and bit noisy.

Here is an unedited picture that was cropped out of the 2560×1920 image that was taken on auto in the afternoon. We noticed that the camera was slow to operate and trying to focus it would take a couple seconds. If you are trying to do action shots, this is not the camera you would want to use.

The zoom on the camera is decent, but as you can see in this crop the colors are a bit more washed out.

We found that taking far away shots is the way to go with this tablet. You might as well forget zoom and take them with the auto setting for the best results.
