Battlefield 3 (BF3) is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released in North America on October 25, 2011 and in Europe on October 28, 2011. It does not support versions of Windows prior to Windows Vista as the game only supports DirectX 10 and 11. It is a direct sequel to 2005′s Battlefield 2, and the eleventh installment in the Battlefield franchise. The game sold 5 million copies in its first week of release and the PC download is exclusive to EA’s Origin platform, through which PC users also authenticate when connecting to the game.

Battlefield 3 debuts the new Frostbite 2 engine. This updated Frostbite engine can realistically portray the destruction of buildings and scenery to a greater extent than previous versions. Unlike previous iterations, the new version can also support dense urban areas. Battlefield 3 uses a new type of character animation technology called ANT. ANT technology is used in EA Sports games, such as FIFA, but for Battlefield 3 is adapted to create a more realistic soldier, with the ability to transition into cover and turn the head before the body.

I got the 260x because as of December 2013 it was roughly $40 cheaper at the usual sites (Tiger and NewEgg).`

  • Marten Noot

    so with is better??

    • randomguy

650ti BOOST is better at this point in time. but when games supporting mantle come out, it may well tip the balance for AMD in those games (only)

  • Chocko

Might do ok at $110.00 or with a game bundle, HD 7850 a better buy at this point.

You cannot compare the R7 260x 139$ card with Nvidia GTX 650 Ti boost 200$ …

    FOR BEST GAMING CHECK AMD R9 …not R7 .

    • legitreviews

      The AMD Radeon R7 260X is $139

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 TI Boost 1GB is $109 and the 2GB is $139!

This is a very fair comparison and the reason I did this versus article! Here are the links below for you to look at!

      1GB – http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130914

      2GB – http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130909

I don’t think the R7 260X will set on 139$ cause AMD 7850 1GB have the same level of GTX 650 Ti 2GB, anyhow on some other sites like Amazon they selling GTX at more than 190$ ….

AMD have bundle advantage like free games etc .

        • Paul Margettas

thats how they take your money numbnuts, its all marketing. and seriously, who the fuck buys computer parts, if not anything, from amazons over priced shit? are you in canada? canada computers, tiger direct, ncix, memory express, newegg. America? tiger direct, Frys, newegg etc etc

        • Tariq Mahmood

Its not about only marketing both companies do refresh their product list by adding some features, and for your kind information 139$ for R7 260X is estimated price …

no company ever sell or sold things without marketing, and also know one thing that people do buy from Amazon too.

its not nvidia’s headache to check every seller who is selling at high prices …..

        • Paul Margettas

i know why they market and that comment came off a little fiery, didn’t mean to. anyway, I’m just saying that AMD is drilling holes into an already sinking ship. nvidia, from the 200 series (as far back as I remember) has been releasing brand new chips. the lower ends and espcially the low end laptop chipsets are rebrands, but still. people want AMD to gain some momentum, but being late for first quarter and then releasing this shit?

Anandtech reports that the GTX 660 has been given a price cut from $200… Next the GTX 650 Ti Boost 1GB has been cut to $129

All the hype, for old gpu’s. Nothing to do here.

    • Yo Mamma

Not everyone can have 1,000 dollar graphics cards. Some of us game for a living.

    • http://www.teamkurosaki.com.mx Jorge Yokiro

Who do you think you are? Not everybody have a lot of money only for spend to a simple “card”, there is most important things to buy in the life.
Also, no everyone think to spend for a powerfull components, you must to down to the earth man.

      • Ross Bishop

He said /old/ GPUs. These /are/ old cards. If they were new low end GPUs, it would be more interesting.
