TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed and features a timer that works great for review purposes as we can easily show you time differences between different file transfer scenarios. TeraCopy also uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times and has asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. Let’s see what the SUNBEAMTECH Airbox USB3.0 3.5″ External Enclosure can do when moving around a 28.08GB .rar file that we created from some of the steam game backups!

Teracopy Real World File Transfers

The first test that we ran was copying the .rar file from the primary OS drive to the SUNBEAMTECH Airbox. It took only six minutes and seventeen seconds to complete the transfer! It should also be noted that the transfer completed with an average speed of 74MB/s!

The second test we copied the same file back to the primary OS drive. This test did take a little bit longer since the operating system is installed and it isn’t an empty drive. Despite it taking a bit longer to write to the OS drive it still completed the transfer in seven minutes and seven seconds with an average speed of 67MB/s!

Benchmark Results: This is the first benchmark that there was a significant difference between the SUNBEAMTECH Airbox USB3.0 3.5″ External Enclosure. There was nearly a full minute more reading from the Airbox USB3.0 Enclosure than there was from the same drive plugged into the SATA port. Though it did take less time to write to the Airbox than it did to write to the Western Digital 640GB Black drive by ~12 seconds.
