NZXT Beta Evo Mid Tower Black Steel Computer Case

NZXT Beta Evo

After a nice long look at this case there was very little to say about it that is negative. Other than a flimsy chassis and side panels and the possibility of dust problems caused by the mesh bay and slot covers, it is a great looking case with a lot of the features of more expensive cases. I mean, can you really go wrong for $59.99? The screw less design makes building a new system or upgrading to this case easy and simple for beginners and veterans alike. I was able to build out the entire system, crappy wiring job and all, in about 35 minutes. The placement of the USB, audio, firewire, and ESTA inputs on the top for me at least was a great idea and will keep my USB flash drives and other USB devices safe for years to come as they cannot be run into and snapped off. The case stayed cool and well within acceptable operating temperatures even though I only used the one 120mm front intake fan provided with the case and the fan for the CPU cooler. Another plus to mention is that with this minimal cooling setup the PC is virtually silent. With the holidays coming up soon this case would make a great inexpensive gift for any of your friends and family that have to suffer from Ugly Case Syndrome because they think a nice looking case is too expensive.

Today is Black Friday and you can get a rather nice price on this case as Newegg has it for $59.99 shipped before a $30 Main-In Rebate (MIR). Once you you get the refund check back for the NXZT Beta Evo you’ll end up spending just $29.99 for this case! The rebate is only valid from 11-25-2009 to 11-29-2009, so hurry if you are looking for a name brand case in the $30 price range!

Legit Reviews Value Award

Legit Bottom Line: All in all if you are looking for a killer looking case that isn’t going to set your wallet on fire the NZXT Beta Evo is a great choice. It keeps your system cool even without the use of all of the extra fans and there is plenty of room to tinker around and build your system out properly. If I had to give some constructive advice to NZXT as a result of this review, it would be to include some fan screws with the hardware pack.
