3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance
benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and
DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests,
several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark
Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed
specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API
from Microsoft.

The Entry settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1024×768 was run.

3dmark Vantage Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results: The integrated Radeon HD 4290 graphics were able to score ~3200 3DMarks in the entry level benchmark in 3DMark Vantage as you can see above. Both the ASUS and Gigabyte 890GX motherboards were nearly tied in the integrated GPU testing. Once we added in a Radeon HD 5870 graphics card into each system with CATALYST 10.2 drivers the performance of the system increased greatly as you can see the GPU score went from 2,500 to nearly 55,000! Once again the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H had better discrete graphics, which confirms the better PCIe x16 performance that we saw on Cinebench R11.5 on the previous page.
