E3 2012 – Standout Game Titles & Demos

2012 E3 Expo

Here are some other standout game titles that we look forward to seeing at the 2012 E3 Expo.

Assassins Creed 3:

E3 2012 - Assassins Creed 3

Assassin’s Creed III is one of the most talked about game titles coming into E3 2012, and rightly so. Assassin’s Creed III will be set during the American Revolution from 1753 to 1783, featuring a new protagonist, Connor Kenway. Ubisoft showed off the game yesterday at E3 and in the glimpses shown, we were able to see a fluid combat system, bloody battlefields and an even Connor taking out his Redcoat/Templar target by way of a bayonet on a British musket.

The game also has a number of naval sequences that can be played that look pretty slick and is not something you’d expect in this title. Assassin’s Creed III’s multiplayer mode is still in development at Ubisoft and we heard that a 4 vs 4 mode called Domination will be included. All we know is that it could be loosely based on the classic King of the Hill gameplay. Assassin’s Creed III is scheduled to be released on October 30, 2012.

Dishonored:

E3 2012 - Dishonored

Dishonored is an upcoming game title developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda. Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. You are Corvo, the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is besieged by plague and ruled by a corrupt government armed with strange technologies, dark forces bestow supernatural abilities upon you.

In Dishonored, creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine supernatural abilities with weapons and gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your targets under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make. Dishonored will be available in North America on October 9, 2012 and throughout Europe on October 12, 2012, and is slated for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Dead Space 3:

E3 2012 - Dead Space

Dead Space 3 is developed by Ubisoft and it looks like the sequel will move away from the series usual starship environments and onto a planet filled with attacking creatures. The game title also adds new character as part of a new co-op campaign that is named John Carver. This trailer does use some harsh language, so be sure to turn it down if you are at work or have young children in the room. Dead Space 3 is scheduled to be released sometime in February 2013.

Dead Space 3 brings Isaac Clarke and merciless soldier John Carver on a journey across space to discover the source of the Necromorph outbreak. Crash-landed on the frozen planet of Tau Volantis, the pair must comb the harsh environment for raw materials and scavenged parts. Isaac will then put his engineering skills to the ultimate test to create and customize weapons and survival tools. The ice planet holds the key to ending the Necromorph plague forever, but first the team must overcome avalanches, treacherous ice-climbs, and the violent wilderness. Facing deadlier evolved enemies and the brutal elements, the unlikely pair must work together to save mankind from the impending apocalypse.

Star Wars 1313:

E3 2012 - Star Wars 1313

Developed by Lucas Arts. This game is set in the underground of the planet Courasant where you play as a bounty hunter looking to uncover a conspiracy. Said to be a more mature game than any other that LucasArts has previously published, it is one that folks here in the Legit Bunker are excited for.

Tomb Raider:

E3 2012 - Tomb Raider

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have been busy working on a new game title to reboot the Tomb Raider franchise and we are finally able to see some of work paying off this weekend. The two companies have released a new game trailer for E3 2012 that is sure to get gamers excited. The new Tomb Raider game title is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March 2013 if all goes as planned. Some might recall that Tomb Raider was due to arrive this fall, but it was recently delayed in order for Crystal Dynamics to have enough time to “deliver the very highest quality game.”

As you can see in the trailer, there is a ton of Lara scampering and sneaking around, and even shows a compassionate young Croft apologizing before killing a deer to eat. And then she starts stabbing people and becoming the Laura Croft we all know and love.

Halo 4:

E3 2012 - Halo 4

The highly anticipated game title Halo 4 will be launching on November 6, and Microsoft showed off the title during its E3 keynote address that is worth watching. Unlike the first Halo trilogy, which was created and developed by Bungie Studios, Halo 4 has been developed by Microsoft-owned 343 Industries. As one might expect, the studio is facing considerable pressure to fill Bungie’s shoes. According to Microsoft, Halo 4 will kick off a new trilogy in the franchise, so 343 Industries has better knock this one out of the park. The game will be available only on the Xbox 360.
