Overclocking

DFI LanParty BI G41-T33

Overclocking was a difficult task on this board. The heat issues kept us from raising the vcore at all on this board, and with the neutering of the BIOS and 3-phase power-design, it really made things difficult.

The best we were able to get was an extra 8fsb. Yup, 341 fsb was it, giving us a total CPU speed of 3.069Ghz. Nothing to write home about, that is for sure. We weren’t able to get any better results by lowering the multiplier. It just seemed as if the board was stuck at 341. If it were not for the LanParty label in this board, we would not have been as disappointed.

DFI also has what they call ABS available for their boards.

From their website:
“DFIs new ABS technology provides the convenience of saving and loading several OC settings. All new LanParty DK and Blood Iron series motherboards will come with ABS allowing you to use the best OC setting to optimize your systems performance. You can Auto Boost your system by simply pressing on the F1 hot key.”

The Auto Boost System works in conjunction with the CMOS reloaded part of the BIOS so you can interchange different settings to save/reload them as you want. It does not help to overclock the board, but allows you to save settings that you have already overclocked. One last shot:
