BIOSTAR TA990FXE Retail Packaging

The retail packaging for the BIOSTAR TA990FXE motherboard is kept relatively simple. There is very little marketing done on the front of the packaging; only a few of the technologies that go into the TA990FXE are listed.

The back of the retail packaging for the BIOSTAR TA990FXE lists out a few more of the technologies and features available and employed on the AMD 990FX motherboard.

The bundle for the BIOSTAR TA990FXE motherboard isn’t the fullest that we have ever seen, though it includes everything needed to setup your shiny new system. Inside the box you will find a handful of SATA cables, I/O shield, SLI and CrossFireX Bridges, Manual, and a driver disk. There is a protective layer of cardboard that protects the BIOSTAR TA990FXE motherboard from the bundle shifting around during shipping.

Once we remove the protective layer of cardboard from the retail packaging, we can see that the motherboard is protected from ESD with the typical anti-static bag. It doesn’t give us a great look at the board, but I’d rather have a working board than a dead board that I can see clearly in the packaging.
