Looking closer at the AMD water kit

With the unit out of the box we can start to look it over. Looking at the overall design it looks very similar to that of the Antec Khuler H2O 920. The coolant tubes are flexible non-corrugated and 13 long. There are 3 wires coming from the pump housing. One is the units power cable with a 3ping fan connector. The unit uses a single motherboard fan header to power the pump and fans. There is also a 12 USB cable for connecting to an internal USB header.

The last wire is for powering the units fans. The wire is 12 long, combined with the wire length on the fans there is more than enough to reach from the pump housing to the radiator.

The pump housing is 1.1 tall and has the AMD FX logo on it. When powered the FX will be back lit with an RGB LED that is controlled in the software.

The fittings on the pump are 90* swivel fittings.

The base comes with thermal paste pre-applied.

The swivel fittings combined with the flexible tubing will make installing the unit easy. This will be most noticeable in small cases where tighter turns are needed. The radiator is 2 or 50mm thick. When paired with the included fans the mounting thickness is 4 or 100mm.

The included fans are 9 blade 120mm PWM controlled.
