HD Tach v3.0.4.0

HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device possible.

Benchmark Results: The our original Kingston SSDNow V Series 40GB Boot Drive has been used on a few systems now and since it doesn’t support TRIM, it is looking a little ‘used and abused’ if you ask us. When paired with another drive though the performance jumped up from ~180 MB/s to 245 MB/s.  The burst speed remained the same, which is odd as I figured on the SATA 6 Gbps controller that we would have seen an increase.  This is because we are running software RAID and not true hardware RAID. Any physical disk benchmark will not properly detect the Windows RAID array, so these benchmark results pretty much mean nothing.
