HD Tach v3.0.4.0

HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device possible.

Benchmark Results: The Patriot Torqx 120GB MLC SSD performed admirably here which is no real surprise if you have been paying attention to the benchmark scores by other Indilinx controlled drives. Obviously, they used very good quality NAND in these units.

Comparison Chart: As you can see in the comparison, the Torqx drive performs extremely well, besting even the Intel X25-M in this benchmark except in the burst speed where it trails by a definitive margin. This is pretty impressive knowing that the Intel drives have been setting the standards for MLC SSD’s since consumer drives have been widely available.
