Looking Closer at the EVGA Superclock

With the Superclock out of the box we can start to get a good look at it. Aside from slight cosmetic changes the Superclock looks a lot like the Swiftech Polaris 120. The Superclock is solid black, except for the mounting hardware and the bottom of the cooler base.

The fronts of the cooling fins are curved with a saw tooth profile. On the top and bottom, most fins are straight. With the fan installed you cannot tell there is any shape to the fins. The fins are also dimpled. This creates air turbulence between the cooling fins.

The back of the fins are flat. The rear corners are rounded.

The sides and part of the rear corners are bent down to close off the side. This helps with the central feature in creating the wind tunnel effect.

The top of the Superclocks base is flat. The base also has the top half of the mounting system pre-installed.

The base itself is an H.D.T. or Heatpipe Direct Touch style base. The gaps between the flats on the pipes are close, so thermal paste being wicked up into the gaps should be minimal.

The 120mm fan for the Superclock has clear fins and body. It is also a red LED fan so when powered up the fan should put out a fair bit of light since there is nothing to block the light from the LEDs.
