The Witcher 3 Xbox One X Update Lands

By

A new update for the game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has landed, and this update is specifically for the fans playing the game on the Xbox One X game console. The update for the game allows One X players to choose if they want to run the game at 60 fps in a lesser resolution or 30 fps in 4K resolution. The option is added as a new “Advanced” setting in the display settings menu.

Options include “4K Mode” and “Performance Mode”. The 4K mode is the game with all the good stuff on and running at a stable 30 fps. The update brings with its HDR support, enhanced shadows, ambient occlusion, texture filtering, and higher resolution textures. Performance mode cuts out some of those goodies.

Performance Mode uses dynamic resolution scaling to hit 60 fps giving gamers a resolution between 1080p and 4K to keep the frame rate high. Kotaku says that playing the game on both settings, the difference isn’t that big. The main difference is said to be the sharpness of the beams of light coming through the trees from the sun.

The update is available for the Xbox One X right now and will land of the PS4 Pro soon. That is as close as we have to an availability date for the PS4 Pro, which may irk gamers on that platform.
