UK Eve Online Players Finally Get to Pay in Local Currency and at Reduced Price

By

Eve Online is a very popular sci-fi MMO based in space. It has been created by Icelandic developer CCP and one of its standout features are the beautiful graphics. To play, one must pay a monthly subscription fee in Euros, which isn’t so convenient if you happen to live in the UK. However, CCP are now allowing payment in the UK’s local currency, Pounds Sterling to “accommodate requests by the UK community”. Not only that, but this change will result in an estimated 20% price reduction too. So, how much? Now 9.99 per month for your gaming fix.

Eve Online has more than 400,000 subscribers, and, according to CCP, is the only MMO to have grown every year in the past eight years since launch.

“UK players have been an important part of the Eve community from the very beginning, organising some of the very first player meets, being at the forefront of Eve’s PvP alliances and expanding the Eve experience with such creations as the epic Clear Skies movies,” CCP said.

“The enthusiasm and creativity of these players has only underlined the importance of the UK market as we enter a very exciting time for the Eve Universe.”
