LAS VEGAS, NV–(Jan 6, 2015) – 2015 International CES — TP-LINK, a global provider of consumer and SMB networking products, today announced at the 2015 International CES the RE210 and RE450, a new series of sleek miniature wireless AC range extenders, reaching wireless speeds of up to 1,750Mps.

The new range extenders can work with any standard Wi-Fi router, extending area coverage and improving the wireless performance of an existing wireless network in a home or office. Smart Signal Indicator LEDs indicate the strength of the signal received from the router, helping users easily find the ideal placement for the extenders to ensure optimal performance. The extenders are also backwards-compatible, allowing them to work with older wireless protocols such as 802.11 b/g/n.

TP-Link MOD-298618_RE450802.11ac Dual Band Technology

Both range extenders possess the newest wireless protocol standard, 802.11ac, which makes simultaneous use of dual 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands to create the fastest wireless connections possible. Dual band technology enables users to keep low-bandwidth tasks like sending email and web browsing on a different channel than more intensive ones such as online gaming or streaming HD video, ensuring faster, smoother overall network performance.

Additionally, a built-in gigabit Ethernet port creates a reliable connection to wired devices, including TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles and Blu-ray players. At the same time, the range extender can share the existing wireless network with mobile devices such as smartphones, laptops and tablets.

“Demand is growing for fast, reliable Wi-Fi networks that reach every room in the home, from our bedrooms to the living room and even the kitchen,” said Lewis Wu, executive vice president of TP-LINK U.S. “Our new series of wireless AC range extenders allow users to greatly boost the signal of their routers, broadening their Wi-Fi network’s reach to every corner of the home.”

RE210 and RE450 Key Features:

  • Dual 5GHz and 2.4GHz external antennas enhance Wi-Fi speeds and signal range
  • One gigabit Ethernet port creates a reliable connection to wired devices
  • DC-outlet plug design for flexible placement
  • Smart Signal Indicator LEDs show the strength of the wireless signal received from a router
  • One-button WPS pairing with Wi-Fi routers for hassle-free installation
