Sony Play Station 3 Card Reader Not Defective

By

Taiwan-based G-Shank Enterprise stated that stamping parts it manufactured for Sony’s PlayStation 3 (PS3) game consoles have no defects and should not cause malfunction of the console’s card reader, according to a November 20 filing the company made with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

The clarification came as rumors circulate in the market that a memory card might be unable to be ejected from the PS3’s card reader and that such a problem could have resulted from defective stamping parts inside the card reader. G-Shank said it has checked with the supplier of the card reader for the PS3 and was assured that there were no defects in both the card reader and the stamping parts.
