Skybound Terminates Starbreeze Studios’ Contract over Walking Dead Disappointment

Robert Kirkman, the man behind the Walking Dead, and his media company Skybound has announced that it has terminated the contract with Starbreeze Studios. Starbreeze is the company that created Overkill’s The Walking Dead game that launched back in November.

The game was a massive disappointment to fans and Kirkman. Skybournd says it worked hard with Starbreeze to make a game that was compelling and unique, but that effort didn’t work out reports Gamespot.

“As of today, we have terminated our contract with Starbreeze Studios and will discontinue all efforts on Overkill’s The Walking Dead,” Skybound said in its statement. “Our creators and their stories are the core of Skybound, and since 2014 we have worked hard to expand the world of The Walking Dead into an exceptional co-op action FPS.”

Skybound notes that it is still dedicated to making more Walking Dead games. It’s unclear at the moment if Overkill’s The Walking Dead for consoles is now canceled as well. 505 Games said last week that the game was still on.
