CUPERTINO, Calif.– Seagate Technology plc (NASDAQ:STX), a world leader in storage solutions, announced today at the Flash Memory Summit conference the new Nytro XF1440 2.5, Nytro XM1440 M.2 non-volatile memory express (NVMe) Solid State Drives (SSDs) and the Nytro XP6500 Flash Accelerator Card. These products extend Seagates portfolio of flash-based solutions, which are designed to work in conjunction with Seagate storage products to meet nearly any data storage need.

For enterprise and cloud end users as well as cloud original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system partners, these new products feature the highest level of reliability and endurance. The drives and the accelerator card are best suited for demanding enterprise applications, such as online transaction processing (OLTP), high frequency trading, high-performance computing (HPC), data warehousing, data mining and data analytics as well as workloads with mixed IO sizes and multiple applications running simultaneously.

The Seagate Nytro XF1440 and XM1440 are industry-leading power efficient, high performance NVMe SSDs available in ultra-small (2.5 and M.2) form factors. Offering a balance of power and performance, these drives are engineered to increase storage density, while reducing the storage footprint and power use in data centers.

The Seagate Nytro XP6500 is a PCIe flash accelerator card delivering the lowest write latency within the Nytro product portfolio improving response time in applications requiring high Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) and bandwidth suitable for a broad range of workloads.

These new flash products greatly expand the range of our total product portfolio and demonstrate how Seagates acquisition of the LSI flash technologies is paying off, said Brett Pemble, vice president of flash products, Seagate cloud systems and electronics solutions. With these products, Seagates commitment to the modern datacenter is clear. The Nytro XF1440/XM1440 SSDs deliver the highest performance in the smallest power envelope. The XP6500 flash accelerator card provides ultra-low latency capability for applications that require fast logging and produce significantly higher transactions per second,–something todays applications demand.

The integration of flash memory into the enterprise storage market will continue to grow substantially over the next five years, said Jeff Janukowicz, research director for solid state drives and enabling technologies at IDC. Companies who can provide a wide array of solutions and storage building blocks, using both flash and magnetic media, will be well positioned to take advantage in this market.

Flash Memory Summit – Product Demos and Keynote Presentation

Seagate will demonstrate the Nytro XF1440 SSD in booth #505 at the Flash Memory Summit 2015 conference as well as in the NVMe booth, #700-702. In addition, Seagate will exhibit its XM1440 SSDs, Nytro XP6500 Flash Accelerator Card, the SandForce 3500 Client SSD Controller and the (recently announced) 1200.2 SAS SSD. Two live demonstrations will feature an astounding 3.2 million IOPS and 20 GB/sec operating on a 92TB array of Seagate 1200.2 SAS SSDs in a single Seagate OneStor SP3224s 2U enclosure.

Phil Brace, Seagate cloud systems and electronic solutions president, will present the keynote address, Flash and Hard Drives: A Winning Combination for Future Data Centers on Wednesday, August 12th, at2:00pm. The presentation will address the combining of flash memory and hard drives to create an efficient and cost-sensitive data center driven by utilizing existing storage assets and achieving a measurable return on investment.
