Rise of Tomb Raider, Free NVidia Bundle

Rise of the Tomb Raider, already a hit and only available on the XBOX ONE platform currently due to an exclusivity deal between Microsoft and Square Enix, is gearing up for launch on the PC at the end of this month, to the joy of PC gamers everywhere. It has been long known that Rise of the Tomb Raider is an AMD Gaming Evolved title, taking advantage of TressFX 3.0, so the following news it a bit of a shock to us. According to leaked news from an NVidia Russia newsletter, those who purchase a high end NVidia GPU starting January 7, 2016 will qualify for a code for a free copy of Rise of The Tomb Raider, once the game is available. Qualifying GPU’s include the GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980 Ti and the mobile variants of these GPU’s, the GTX 970M and GTX 980M. While this news isn’t official and NVidia has not published the information, we expect it to become official as part of NVidia’s CES announcements. A free AAA title offering with the purchase of a GPU has been an incentive provided by both AMD and NVidia for quite some time now. With the GPU market very competitive, the difference between a consumer buying, say an R9 390 vs GTX 970, could very well come down to added incentives and bundled games.
