Pegatron To Manufacturer New Version Of Apple’s iPhone

By

According to sources speaking to Digitimes, Pegatron has begun production of Apple’s new version of the highly successful iPhone. The units are being manufactured at Pegatron’s factory in Shanghai, China. Furthermore it seems the company is also the second OEM manufacturer of Apple’s new iPad, of which shipments are already expected to hit a few million units by the end of the third-quarter. This is good news for the company as notebook ODM shipments have fallen, but the switch to the iPhone and iPad should more than make up for this as the company is expected to have higher revenue in the second half of this year.

Pegatron is expected to see ODM shipments of notebooks decrease sequentially in third-quarter 2012, and orders for the new version iPhone are enough to make up for decreased revenues from the notebook segment, the sources indicated.
