Incipio Feather Ultralight Hard Shell Case

Incipio Slim Case

Next up we have the Motorola Atrix 4G Feather Ultralight Hard Shell case by Incipio. Incipio is a company that we have never worked with before, so we were glad to hear that they would be sending us out one of their products to look at. This case is available in four different colors; Black, Magenta, Iridescent Teal and Ireidescent Bright Red with the price being fixed at $24.99 no matter what color suits your fancy. The hard plastic shell of this case is less than 1mm thick, so this is the slimmest form-fitted case that we have ever seen advertised for the Motorola Atrix. If you don’t like adding girth to your phone or hate the added weight of a larger case then this might be the ideal case for you.

The feather comes with directions, a screen cleaning cloth, a screen protector and a screen protector applicator. The directions and all the included information was well written and easy to follow. You only get one screen protector, so be sure to read the directions closely and apply it on a clean surface as you don’t want dust getting on the surface of your phone or the protector.

We marveled at just how thin the Incipio case was as it really is less than 1mm in thickness. The case has a soft touch matte finish that doesn’t collect dust that bad, but if you have oily or greasy fingers you will see some smudges or smears on this finish.

Snapping the feather case onto the Motorola Atrix 4G Smartphone was a breeze as the phone securely clicked into the case. The left and right sides of the Incipio Feather extend beyond the front screen of the phone, so if you sit it face down on the table, only the case will be touching. This is great for flat surfaces, but if you drop it face down on a rock driveway for example you are likely going to have some scratches.

Incipio Slim Case

Incipio left all of the necessary ports on the Motorola Atrix 4G exposed, which means you have easy access to them. This is nice as you don’t have to remove the case or fiddle with a cover when charging the phone, but it does leave it open for pocket lint or other debris to get inside.

The top and bottom of the Incipio Feather Ultralight Hard Shell Case are left open, which doesn’t protect the top and bottom of the phone that well in our opinion. All four corners of the Motorola Atrix are covered though and that is usually where most phones tend to land when dropped. The camera lens and flash are left open, so there is no concern of the lens being covered by another layer of plastic and distorting images.

The Incipio Feather Ultralight Hard Shell Case is by far the thinnest and lightest case that we have ever seen for the Motorola Atrix. It literally feels like nothing is on your phone, but at the same time it makes us question how well it will protect our phone in the event of an accident. A hard shell case doesn’t really absorb an impact, but at the same time it’s doesn’t move around, rip or stretch out like silicone rubber ones. It really comes down to what you like!

The Incipio Feather case for the Motorola Atrix 4G is an ideal case for those that don’t want the added bulk of a silicone sleeve and can be found for $18.67plus $3.99 shipping from Amazon.com. For $22.66 the Incipio Feather is both light on your wallet and smartphone!
