Nvidia profit advances 57% after market-share gains

Nvidia, the world’s second-largest maker of computer-graphics chips, reported a 57 percent increase in fourth-quarter profit after boosting its share of the market.

Net income rose to $257 million, or 42 cents a share, from $163.5 million, or 27 cents, a year earlier, Nvidia said Wednesday in a statement. Revenue climbed 37 percent to $1.2 billion in the period ended Jan. 27, beating the average estimate in a Bloomberg survey of analysts.
