NVIDIA GRID Gaming Service Remains Free Until September

By

The NVIDIA GRID gaming service was said to be free for all SHIELD device owners until June 30th, 2015. That date has come and gone and the 58 game titles that the service currently offers, appear to be free until September 2015 now. There are 58 game titles on the NVIDIA GRID gaming service available this very second (Trine 2 Complete Story and Strike Suit Zero are temporary titles that end on August 14th), you can pick from popular titles such as F.E.A.R. 3, Batman Arkham Asylum, Alan Wake and Borderlands to play on NVIDIA SHIELD devices for free.

NVIDIA GRID Free September

We don’t expect NVIDIA to keep extending the free play period much longer though as the service was designed to be paid for despite being in the beta stage for well over a year now. NVIDIA has 6 data centers around the world, including: USA North West, USA South West, USA East Coast, Northern Europe, Central Europe and Asia Pacific to hopefully allow gamers around the world to have a good GRID gaming experience. When NVIDIA first launched the GRID cloud gaming service in November 2014, they were streaming games at 720p60 (1280 x 720 resolution at 60 frames per second) on about 20 game titles. In May 2015, NVIDIA announced that they were streaming some game titles at 1080p60 (1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 frames per second)! NVIDIA has slowing improving the GRID gaming service ahead of charging for it.

Once NVIDIA flips the switch and starts to charge people for the game streaming service we heard there will be two different packages available for you to select from. You can opt for the basic 720p60 service or the premium 1080p60 service through subscription tiers.
