Nintendo NES and SNES Classic Editions to be Discontinued

If you want one of the small retro consoles from Nintendo, you should get it right now while stock is easy to find. Both the retro NES Classic Edition and the SNES Classic Edition consoles are abundant right now. Nintendo has made good on the promise of plenty of stock after they were sold out close to launch and hard to find.

Previously the NES Classic Edition and been canceled leaving many gamers wanting one without. Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime has stated in an interview that after Christmas and New Years pass, the retro consoles will again be discontinued reports Comicbook.

He said, “We worked very hard, both for the NES Classic and the SNES Classic, to really have the best games that defined that generation. Weve said that the current systems are the extent of our classic program. Weve also been clear that, at least from an Americas perspective, these products are going to be available through the holiday season and once they sell out, theyre gone. And thats it.”

This means if you don’t grab one now and wait until you have to go to scalpers on eBay, you will end up paying twice the price. As of now, stock is still easy enough to find, and this might be a worthy use of your Christmas cash.
