Monster Hunter World has been a popular game since it launched, and Capcom is set to offer a special anniversary event for the game. The event is supposed to happen in January 2019, but no specific date and no details about that event have been offered. What we do know is that it will have new and returning quests and new equipment to earn.

The event will have special decorations in the Gathering Hub. Some of those decorations can be seen in the image above. Other stuff happing for Monster Hunter World in 2019 include a Witcher crossover with Geralt of Rivia in the game.

Players will get to participate in Witcher-inspired quests. The publisher says the special quests will “offer a unique gameplay experience blending RPG mechanics of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with Monster Hunter World’s game systems.”

The first major expansion for the game will land in fall 2019 with the update bringing new content, quest ranks, environments, monsters, and crafting gear. It will also offer a new storyline that takes place after the ending of the core game reports GameSpot.
