Modern Warfare Remastered Map Pack Launches at $15

By

If you are a fan of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered a new map pack landed for the game late last week. The DLC is available now for the Xbox One and PC, but the price tag that the map pack demands has left some gamers angry. Activision wants $15 for the map pack and the thing that is making gamers angry is that the same maps for the original game cost only $10.

Granted those original maps for the Xbox 360 and PS3 were offered nearly a decade ago. PC games have more to be upset about because those maps on the original version were free as part of a game patch sponsored by NVIDIA. Part of the irritation about the price of the map pack comes because gamers feel that remastered version of games should include all the original game content.

To make things worse, the only way for gamers to get Modern Warfare Remastered is to buy a special version of the original Modern Warfare game. The rub there is that the playerbase on PC is very low with Kotaku reporting that it is less than a quarter of what the playerbase was for the game six months ago. This means Activision is charging what players see as a premium for a map pack where there are few gamers there to play the online maps against.

Activision still hasn’t yet started if Remastered will ever be offered as a standalone game. The pricing policy taken by Activision has led to a bunch of protest review over on the game’s Steam page.
