MechWarrior 5 to Feature Co-op Play and Mods System

By

The first real video game that pushed me into PC gaming many years ago was MechWarrior. If you are a huge fan of the franchise Piranha Games is working on a new entry called MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. We are still a very long way from the launch of the game, but the devs are starting to give up a bit of detail on what we can expect.

The video game is currently set for a December 2018 launch. It will have co-op play as a central feature allowing up to four players to take on the central campaign of the game. Having friends rather than AI on your team is a cool feature. Presumably, if you prefer to go along the AI will stand in for your friends.

Piranha also notes that there will be lots of mod support via the Steam Workshop allowing players to make custom missions, planets, and customize other game aspects. I sincerely hope you can fully customize your mech as well. As for game setting, it is said to start where MechWarrior 3015 was set in the timeline and last for about 35 years reports Engadget.

This is the first new game in the franchise in four years and the first with a single-player mode in over 15 years. It had better be good. Check out the trailer below.
