LG X Power2 is an Entry-level device with a Big Battery

By

LG has unveiled a new phone ahead of MWC 2017 called the LG X Power2. This phone has specs that certainly won’t impress anyone, but the device is expected to be a low-end entry-level smartphone. The big focus of this smartphone is on battery size, selfies, and charge speed.

The X Power2 has a giant 4,500mAh internal battery with high speed charging capability. The screen is a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 unit and the processor is an unnamed 1.5GHz octa-core. The rear camera is a 13MP unit and the front camera is a 5MP unit.

Internal storage is 16GB with expansion via microSD cards if you need more. The smartphone has 1.5/2GB of RAM. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat for the OS and that 5MP front camera has a wide angle unit with LED flash for better selfies.

The smartphone does have WiFi and Bluetooth. It measures 154.7 x 78.1 x 8.4mm and weighs 164g. LG will sell the smartphone in black titan, shiny titan, shiny gold, and shiny blue colors. The big draw to this device is again the battery and since the phone has such modest specifications that should mean serious runtime.

LG is also positioning the X Power2 for selfies. That wide angle camera will allow selfies with a group to be taken easier. It has support for gestures or activating the selfie camera. It can also trigger the front camera shutter when it detects a face. The device is tipped for a March launch in Latin America to start, US, Asia, Europe, and other areas will come later. There is no word on pricing.
