Kingston v series 188GB PCMarkVantage

PCMark Vantage v1.01 measures the performance of the latest PC hardware across a variety of common scenarios. PCMark Vantage supports both system level and component level benchmarking and comprises several different test suites but for the purposes of this review, we stuck with just the HDD suite. The nice thing about PCMark Vantage is that you can submit your scores online and compare against others.

Benchmark Results: The overall score is rather low, as are the individual scores when comparing to a table of previously reviewed SSD’s from a different test system. However, most of those drives are also mainstream to enthusiast level and carry a hefty price tag.

SiSoftware Sandra2010

SiSoftware Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is an information & diagnostic utility. Sandra provides most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software.

Kingston 128GB V Series SANDRA READ

Benchmark Results: Sandra echoes what most of the other benchmarks have shown in that the reads are consistently exceeding the 200MB/s mark by significant margins.

Kingston 128GB V Series SANDRA WRITE

Benchmark Results: The writes come in a little under spec at 148.4MB/s but still within tolerances. You can see the dip at around 4k which further shows this drive does not like 4k writes.
