Is the World Ready for 3D Laptops? Ask Acer
Available with only Windows 7 Home Premium, the Acer Aspire 5738 3D Notebook’s main features to look at are its 15.6″ HD 1366 x 768 resolution, high-brightness (220-nit) Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD with integrated TriDef 3D screen, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 with up to 2304 MB of HyperMemory. This portable 3D gaming machine weighs in at 6.16lbs so its not going to hurt your back while carrying it around, but it sure is not a netbook. It will be interesting to see how the 3D market will progress in the future, but the Aspire 5738 3D marks a whole new era of technology.
I’m all for technology advancements–a new OS, a slicker smartphone, Tang, whatever. Now Acer’s making an odd-but-interesting bet with its new Aspire 5738DG laptop: a 3D display. Yep, the future is now–watch out for flying DeLoreans!
