Inateck FE2006 Review – 2.5-inch USB 3.0 External Drive with UASP

CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64

CrystalDiskMark is a small benchmark utility for drives and enables rapid measurement of sequential and random read/write speeds. Note that CDM only supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ) with a queue depth of 32 (as noted) for the last listed benchmark score. This can skew some results in favor of controllers that also do not support NCQ.

Benchmark Results: The Corsair Neutron XT 240GB SSD scored 541.9MB/s read and 518.5MB/s write on the sequential test when we ran the drive on the CrystalDiskMark storage test with the default settings (incompressible data) and on the 000 (0 Fill) test (compressible data) and found that the sequential read/write performance of the drive was about the same. When we placed the same drive in the Inateck FE2006 enclosure we were getting 402MB/s read and 431MB/s write. We were able to get better read results with compressible data on most all the read test when using the USB 3.0 interface, but our write scores didn’t budge.
