Images of Alleged New Xbox Elite Controller Leak

By

Some images have turned up online that claim to be a new updated version of the Xbox Elite controller with some new tricks up its sleeves. This, if true, would be the first update to the Xbox Elite Controller since it launched back in 2015. These images turned up at a Chinese website called Baidu.

According to the person who posted the images, the new controller will have a USB-C port for charging, Bluetooth support for Windows 10, a trio of Hair Trigger Locks, longer key travel for the paddles, and a switch supporting three profiles. One of the images shows a screw mechanism under one of the thumbsticks that allows the gamer to customize tension of the sticks.

Microsoft had a patent app turn up back in December that showed this exact adjustable tension mechanism. The images also show three LEDs that could be battery life or indicate which of the three profiles you are using. Our money is on indicating profiles.

Another image that has turned up showed different grip sections, something that the current Elite controller has had issues with reports The Verge. Perhaps this controller will get official this summer at E3.
