Image from Next Assassin’s Creed Game has Leaked
Folks at Ubisoft working on the next game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise certainly aren’t happy right now. An image leaked recently that was snapped off a TV presumably in the development studio showing game action from the next title in the series. Eurogamer says that three separate sources have confirmed that the image is in fact in-game footage from the coming game.
The leak originally turned up on Reddit and was posted by a now deleted username “shoutouttoashraf”, which is presumably supposed to be a reference to an Ubisoft worker called Ashraf Ismail who worked on Black Flag.
The leaked image shows a character standing on a boat in what appears to be an ancient Egypt setting. The boat is tiny, nothing like the big boats you could cruise around the oceans in Black Flag. The character on this smaller boat as a shield on its back and a bow and quiver of arrows.
Other reports have claimed that the new game would be called Assassin’s Creed: Origins and is a series prequel, Eurogamer says that it has confirmed this is the name of the game. The mission seen in the leaked image has text reading “Follow Shadya to Khenut’s villa.” Khenut was an Egyptian queen who was the wife of King Unas who lived in the fifth dynasty of Egypt. The game is expected to be unveiled at E3 this summer.
