HTC Flyer 7-inch Tablet PC Announced – Runs Android 2.4

By

HTC unveiled the HTC Flyer, a 7-inch tablet to compete with Apple’s iPad, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab lineup and the Motorola Xoom at the Mobile World Congress today. This Tablet PC is making some news because it runs Android 2.4 instead of Android 3.0, which might shock some consumers. It looks like the Motorola Xoom and Galaxy Tab 10.1 will launch with Android 3.0 “Honeycomb” form day one and then the HTC Flyer will be running a hybrid version of Android 2.4 before receiving an upgrade to Honeycomb in the second quarter of this year. The HTC Flyer will be available to customers globally during Q2 2011, so it won’t be without Android 3.0 for long. Could this tablet be had for a good price since it might initially ship without Android 3.0?
