HP Unveils TouchPad Tablet – First WebOS Tablet PC

Hewlett-Packard today took the wraps off its long-anticipated tablet, a 9.7-inch device it’s calling the TouchPad. This is the first tablet running the companiy’s webOS user interface that is said to deliver a full tablet experience. WebOS was partly acquired along with Palm as part of a $1.2 billion deal in April 2010. The HP TouchPad Tablet features a 9.7-inch diagonal flush capacitive multitouch display, virtual keyboard, instant-on access, support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1 beta in the browser and access to thousands of webOS applications. It has a 1024×768 resolution display, a weight of 1.5 pounds, front-facing cameras for video chat, 16GB or 32GB of built-in memory and a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor.
