Google Archives LIFE Magazines Photos
On Tuesday Google launched an online TIME magazine photo archive, adding millions of previously unreleased images for public viewing. They have scanned 2 million of 10 million photos so far and are planning on adding the remaining 8 million in the next few months.
You can see the images directly via the online archive, or alternatively include the tag “source:life” on a regular image search to only see results from the TIME archive.
We’re excited to announce the availability of never-before-seen images from the LIFE photo archive. This effort to bring offline images online was inspired by our mission to organize all the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. This collection of newly-digitized images includes photos and etchings produced and owned by LIFE dating all the way back to the 1750s.
