Parents can no longer say that video games can’t pay the bills. Famous Fortnite streamer Tyler Blevins, better known as Ninja, recently talked with CNN and said in the interview that he made nearly $10 million in 2018. He said that 70% of that income came directly from Twitch and YouTube via ads and subscriptions.

The rest of the loot came from sponsorship deals with Samsung, Uber Eats, and Red Bull. Ninja had previously stated that he was making about $500,000 per month from his revenue sources reports Gamespot.

So how much work is it to make $10M as a pro gamer? Blevins says that he spends about 12 hours per day streaming. In all of 2018, he estimated he played around 4,000 hours of Fortnite.

That works out to about 140 days of Fortnite play out of the year. Ninja thinks that Fortnite has room to grow, but he has diversified with a Ninja-branded clothing line.
