Diamond HD 4870

Company of Heroes is a real-time strategy computer game developed by Relic Entertainment that was released on September 14, 2006. On May 29, 2007 Relic released a patch for Company of Heroes that supports DirectX 10 and we used the latest patch to test DirectX 10 game performance. Company of Heroes is set during World War II where the player follows a military unit, known as Able Company, as they fight their way through some of the greatest and bloodiest battles, including the D-Day landings at Normandy.

Company of Heroes may have been launched in 2006 but when fully patched it still has a
game engine that can pull down the strongest of cards. All the settings were maxed out in game and the DirectX 10 patch was applied.

Results: The HD 4870 and HD 4850 are much closer in Company of Heroes than any previous title with their performance within 10% of each other. However when anti-aliasing is enabled the HD 4870 takes a smaller performance hit due to it’s greater memory bandwidth.
