Destiny 2 services offline today

If today is a day you are off work or out of school and you had planned to spend the day playing Destiny 2, we have some bad news. Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 services will be offline today from 6 am through 12PM PDT. After the maintenance is complete, you will need to update the game to version 1.0.3 reports Eurogamer.

The schedule for the update looks like this, starting at 6AM today players will no longer be able to login to Destiny 2 and server maintenance will begin. At 8 AM all online players will be removed. At 12 PM server maintenance is scheduled to end.

Bungie says to follow @BungieHelp on twitter for updates. At some point during the update process patch notes on what had changed during the update will be offered. During the updates, Destiny Companion services on the Mobile App, Bungie.net, and third-party sites will be restricted.

After the update is applied, if someone tries to join a Fireteam and a member hasn’t updated to the latest version, the error code SHEEP will be displayed. Destiny 2 is getting a Faction Rally Event expected tomorrow, odds are at least part of this update is to support that. Perhaps there will also be updates for exploits like the recently discovered glitch that allows players to glitch through walls on altar of Flame.
