Credit Card-Sized Robin Z510 and Z530 Computer Modules

With netbooks being all the rage in the market right now even though they lack the horsepower of a traditional PC it makes you wonder what is next? A couple days ago Toradex unveiled the credit card-sized Robin Z510 and Z530 computer modules! The two platforms feature a 1.1GHz Intel Atom Z510 and 1.6GHz Atom Z530 (the same processor found in the Vaio P), respectively, as well as integrated GMA500 graphics card with HD capabilities, support for up to seven USB 2.0 ports, and on board microSD slot (pictured, bottom left), 512MB DDR2 RAM, and 2GB solid state flash disk. Enthusiasts can order it now for 129 / 179 ($164 / $227), but there’s about a $20 discount if you’re willing to buy in bulks of 10,000 or more.

Toradex Robin Z510 and Z530 Computer

The credit card sized Robin Z530 and Z510 are embedded Nano COM Express Type 1 computer modules. They are based on Intel Atom Z530 and Z510 processors and the Intel System Controller Hub US15W, which combines the memory controller, graphic engine and I/O in a single, ultra compact design. The Intel Atom Z530 processor runs at 1.6GHz and is designed for high performance computing with low power consumption. Robin Z510 features the Intel Atom Z510 processor which runs at 1.1GHz. Robin Z530 offers a PCI Express x1 lanes, GBit LAN, and up to 7 High Speed USB ports for fast signal connectivity. One USB port can be configured as USB client. The module features in the standard configuration a dual independent graphic output with VGA and LVDS output. Robins provide a wide range of interfaces for mass storage device, such up to 2GB Solid State Flash Disk (on board), a MicroSD slot (on board) and a SATA interface. A microSD card slot is provided on the module for convenient memory extension.
