Crackdown 3 Launch Pushed to February 2019

By

Sumo Digital has been working on the development of the open world shooter called Crackdown 3 for a while now. If you have been waiting in anticipation with hopes that the game would launch later this year you are out of luck. Microsoft has confirmed that the launch for Crackdown 3 will be in February of 2019. A disappointment for gamers who have been waiting for the game that was originally to have launched in 2017.

The upside is that Microsoft has promised more news about the game at E3. Microsoft wrote, “Our fans’ response to the signature antics and explosive gameplay of “Crackdown 3” has been incredible. To ensure we deliver the experience they deserve, “Crackdown 3” will be launching in Feb 2019. We look forward to sharing more on “Crackdown 3″ this Sunday during the Xbox E3 2018 briefing.”

There is no specific word on why the game has been delayed, but we can make some assumptions. There are a lot of games landing this fall and the push to February of next year will let the game miss that crush. Specifically, the launch of Red Dead 2 will be this fall and no one really wants to go head to head with that title.

Windows Central reports that sources that are familiar with Crackdown 3 development say that the game is coming along nicely. Microsoft is said to want the franchise to be elevated into the ranks with Halo, Gears of War, and Forza. That should sound very nice to gamers. You can checkout Microsoft’s E3 trailer below.
