Crackdown 3 in 4K on Project Scorpio and Windows 10 PC

Before E3 2016, the developers of Crackdown 3 released unfortunate news. At concurrent time, Microsoft announced Crackdown 3 would be a Play Anywhere title but would be delayed for the following year. Microsoft Studios general manager Shannon Loftis claimed all was well with the development. Loftis report to Game Informer, To be honest, because we obviously have this Crackdown Online mode and then we also have the traditional Crackdown campaign, which has multiplayer online. Due to the online portion and campaign being two separate components, Crackdown Online and its campaign would not release an open beta

The release of Crackdown 3 was announced during an Extra Life stream for Xbox. The release window for holiday 2017 is possible to be released around same time as the Scorpio.

As stated by Microsoft Studios director of production, Jorg Neumann, the third installment of the series will feature 4K quality support for Project Scorpio. Neumann failed to mention whether the game will run in native 4K resolution or an upscale as seen on PlayStation 4 Pro. It has been stated by Microsoft that all games released after the Scorpio will render natively in 4K.

The Xbox Play Anywhere program will allow customers the option to play on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. Crackdown 3 is expected to release by holidays of 2017.
