Bill Gates Says Goodbye to CES

More than 4,000 people showed up to the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas to hear Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates give his annual – and final ever – keynote speech for the Consumer Electronics Show. Gates speculated on the future with the likes of Jay-Z, Jon Stewart, George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, and Bono of the band U2.
Microsoft’s vision, as Gates describes it, is now one shared broadly by the industry: computing becomes increasingly centered around connecting individuals. Applications will run anywhere they are needed: at home, in the car, in the office, on the phone. The data backbone that will make this possible will be in the clouds. High definition will be everywhere.
