Avexir Turns To Crowdfunding For Jet Fighter S100 SSD Design

An IndieGogo page has been set up by Avexir to help raise $50,000 for them to develop the worlds first SSD with LED lighting effects that also features a ‘jet fighter’ design. The AVEXIR S100 series SSD is the drive that needs funding and a prototype of the drive was shown off at Computex Taipei 2015. The 2.5-inch SATA III 6Gbps drive is powered by a JMircon controller with unknown NAND Flash chips. Avexir says that the drive will feature sequential read/write speeds up to 540MB/s & 450MB/s with 80k IOPS random 4k write and that ‘performance is not an issue’ as it is fast ‘enough for anyone’. The Avexir S100 Series will be made available in November if all goes as planned and hit the streets in 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacity options. All of the drives will be backed by a three-year warranty.
