AT&T Cancels Galaxy Fold Preorders, Hands Out Gift Cards

By

AT&T has become the latest company to cancel preorders for the delayed Galaxy Fold smartphone. Preorders kicked off, and the Galaxy Fold reportedly sold well during the preorder period. The issue was that the devices quickly began to fail in the hands of reviewers.

Samsung recalled all of the devices to see what the issue was and announced that it was delaying the launch of the Galaxy Fold. Time has passed, and we still aren’t sure when the smartphone might launch. All we know for now is that Best Buy has canceled its preorders and now AT&T has as well.

AT&T reportedly contacted those who had preordered the Fold via email telling them the orders were being canceled. To make up for the run around that Samsung has hit fans and carriers with, AT&T did give all those involved a $100 gift card reports PhoneArena.

AT&T also says that anyone who was charged the nearly $2,000 for the smartphone will see a refund soon. Samsung had promised that the smartphone would ship today, but there is no indication that will happen and no indication of when it might ship.
