With the number of companies participating at the CeBIT IT trade show declining every year and visitors becoming more localized, Asustek and Gigabyte Technology both stated they are considering whether or not to attend CeBIT in 2008, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times, citing sources at motherboard makers.

The cost to attend CeBIT is large, but with most visitors to the trade show being end-users and coming from Germany, Taiwan-based OEM and PC part companies did not benefit much from the show, reported the paper.
