Asustek aims to ship over 2.5 million notebooks in Europe in 2007

Yen-cheng Chen, president of sales for Asustek’s European operations said the companys own brand notebook was ranked number six in Europe with 1.63-1.64 million units shipped in the fourth quarter of 2006.

This year, the company plans to focus on the Eastern European market and has set a shipment goal of 2.5-3 million units for the whole of Europe, reported the Chinese-language Apple Daily. Chen pointed out that Asusteks notebook market share currently ranks second in Eastern Europe and that the company will focus on this market to boost shipments with the hope of becoming one of the top five notebook brands in the European market, reported the pape
